Assomet is the Italian trade association of non-ferrous metals industry. It was established in 1946 and it is part of Confindustria. Its members are the Italian producers and processors of non-ferrous metals: aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, tin, magnesium, nickel, precious metals and minor metals.
Assomet represents and supports the legal interests of the industry both at national and international level and operates for the sector developement and to grow the activity of the single company. Its fields of activity are: economic policy, trade, fiscal policy, environment and standardization.
– At international level, vis-à-vis of Europe (on the premises of Eurométaux and EA federation), the interantional study groups (ILZSG for lead and zinc, ICSG for copper, INSG for nickel), international standard organization ISO and CEN.
– At national level, vis-à-vis of Confindustria, the Italiam Ministries (Environment, Development and Trade, Health, Economy), National Statistics Institute, ITA/ICE Italian Trade Agency and UNI National Standardization Body.
